Is a perfect platform for the medical travel world to meet, network, do business and discuss industry trends. By bringing together the entire global healthcare travel market under one roof, IMTEC will challenge the traditional method of travelling from domestic show to domestic show, saving you time, effort and money.

Outbound medical tourism from the UAE to Europe and North America is on the rise as visitors from the Emirates combine treatments with vacation plans, according to the travel industry.

Revenue in the UAE's medical tourism market amounted to about US$1.7 billion (Dh6.24bn) in 2010, and the sector is projected to grow by about 15 percent annually, according to the market research firm Business Monitor International.

Per patient, GCC governments are spending between US$100,000 and 500,000 with some cases costing in excess of US$1.5 million in 2011. Until better alternatives are available in the region, GCC patients will continue to travel for healthcare.

With more than 10 million people worldwide traveling abroad for treatment in 2010, the medical tourism industry is pegged to reach US$4 billion by 2012. A large number of these tourists are from Gulf Cooperation Council countries, with more than 9,000 patients from the United Arab Emirates alone — a figure growing at an annual rate of 26 percent since 2006 in the UAE.

IMTEC 2014
The IMTEC exhibition will provide a unique opportunity for companies within the medical travel value chain to showcase their services and facilities to a focused audience of medical travel professionals, ranging from purchasers to patients, facilitators to insurance companies.

Alongside the exhibition is a multi-track conference where local and international recognised leaders in the industry provide delegates in-depth exposure to latest developments to implement into their medical travel practice. The carefully selected speakers share their experience and expertise in putting together a dynamic programme that will cover current healthcare travel issues.

IMTEC will also host the Commissioners of Medical Travel ( CMT ) Programme, who are qualified healthcare buyers responsible for sending large numbers of patients abroad for healthcare treatment and will be looking to source new healthcare providers at the event.

The CMT programme at IMTEC 2013 included a number of quick fire meetings through our business exchange sessions on day 1 and more substantial pre-arranged meetings on day 2. We will continue this method in 2014 as well as looking to add new initiatives.

IMTEC 2014 is the only event in Middle East bringing together local governmental bodies, renowned local and international practitioners involved in medical travel under one roof. This is certainly one of a kind medical travel event.

According to declarations by Emin Cakmak, Founding President, Turkish Healthcare Travel Council (THTC) and Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) and sponsor Diamond IMTEC 2014 : "We are looking forward to participating in more events IMTEC because it allows us to reach an audience overall, strengthen our brand. organization of the conference was spotless and all the staff were very professional and very helpful. THTC the Board was impressed with the quality of support from the organizers."

The second edition of International Travel Health Exhibition and Conference (IMTEC) has the support of Dubai Convention and Events Bureau and Global Healthcare Travel Council. Organised by Informa Life Sciences exhibitions.
