Following the approval of the Memorandum on the development and promotion of Health Tourism, the government program will be presented at this event.


cartel FITS2013The Amphitheater Foundation and the National Tourism Authority in collaboration with the College of Physicians of Romania are organizing the third edition of the International Tourism Forum Health to be held from 8 to 10 November 2013, in the city of  Targu  Mures  also known as  the city of roses and located in the region of Transylvania. The event will be held under the auspices of the Government of Romania.

Romania held throughout this year successive editions of national and international forums . Representatives of central and local public authorities of tourism and health, representatives of research institutes, companies , resorts , health professionals , and national experts in tourism structures and from abroad have analyzed specific measures such as the definition of the strategy and the development of health tourism and competitive advantages in the international market .

 As a result of these discussions and analysis, the Romanian Government approved the Memorandum on the development and promotion of health tourism. The Interdepartmental Working Group on the Memorandum aims to eliminate dysfunctions that affect the improvement of health tourism products and the important elements of the government program will be presented at this event.

The Directive 2011/24/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2009 on the application of patients' rights in cross-border healthcare can be seen as a great opportunity considering that health tourism is a strategic area for tourism development in Romania.

For this reason the Third International Forum (November 8 to 10. Targu - Mures) will focus on promoting not only the tourism of health potential from the perspective of recent events but the scientific and professional guidelines, the European and international market demand and competitive advantages offered by Romania.

Amphitheater Foundation is a non-profit and non-governmental organization that focuses on community development and human identities. It was founded in 2000 and has developed over 100 cultural programs, educational, scientific and training, tourism, health, social and environmental. Its mission is to contribute to the modernization of Romania through the enhancement of human capital in the context of the knowledge society and accelerating the processes of European integration and globalization.

College of Physicians of Romania participate in the development of health programs and normative acts regulating the medical field and perform the duties conferred by Law 74/1995 and other special laws.  As a professional organization Medical College Romania protect the dignity and promotes the rights and interests of its members in all spheres of activity, defend the honor, freedom and independence in the exercise of professional medical profession by doctors to ensure that their obligations to the sick and public health. Is representative of the medical profession in Romania in relations with authorities and non-governmental, and international.

National Tourism Forum Health is organized with the participation of the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. The event becomes a communication platform between representatives of sanitary and tourism representatives .
