XI NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BALNEOLOGY IN ROMANIA


The event will be held in the balneo resort of Slänic Moldova and the main subject will be "SPA tourism development paradigms”.

 

logo asoc. rumanaThe National Institute of Rehabilitation, Physical Medicine and Balneoclimatology of Bucharest with Romanian Association of Balneology will held from May 29 to June 1 the eleventh edition of National Conference on Balneology in Slanic Moldova. The main theme this year will focus on "spa tourism development paradigms".

The eleventh edition is organized under the auspices of the International Society of Medical Hydrology and Climatology (ISMH), World Federation of Hydrotherapy and Climatotheraphy (FEMTEC), Speleotherapy UIS Standing Committee, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Health.

The XI Conference will have as special guests Prof. Dr. M. Zeki Karagülle, President of the International Society of Medical Hydrology and Climatology and Prof. Dr. Umberto Solimene, Secretary General of the World Federation of Hydrotherapy and Climatotheraphy.

According Organizing Committee "this conference is a special occasion to discuss topics of interest in health care and scientific research potential of spas in our country, with emphasis on development prospects in this area. There will be a proper debate on the promotion and use of natural therapeutic factors”.

The Organizing Committee also invites to participate in the works of the National Conference of Balneology, organized annually by the National Institute of Rehabilitation, Physical Medicine and Balneoclimatology of Bucharest with the Romanian Association of Balneology " in the confidence that their presence contributes to guarantee the success of the event ".

The XI National Conference of Balneology 2013 will be chaired by Dr. Horia Lazarescu. Prof. Dr. M. Zeki Karagülle chairs the Scientific Committee and Delia Cinteza, the Organizing Committee. Constantin Munteanu has been appointed as Secretary of the Organizing and Scientific Committee.

SLĂNIC MOLDOVA
Slănic Moldova is located in southwestern Bacau County, in a depression flanked by high peaks in the river valley Slănic.The spa resort is known thanks to its sources of carbonated, bicarbonated, slightly sulphurous, sodium, chlorinated, hypertonic, hypotonic and oligomineral waters, springs discovered in 1801.

In 1852, the first chemical tests were performed, and in 1877 appeared the spa installations. Over time, the quality of mineral water found here was confirmed by obtaining medals at international exhibitions in Paris, Vienna, Frankfurt / Main etc. Specialists compared them with mineral water from Karlovy Vary, Vichy, Aix-les-Bains etc.

Natural treatment factors: carbonated mineral waters, slightly sulphurous, chloride, bicarbonate, sodium, hypotonic, hypertonic or oligomineral; microclimate of salina (Targu Ocna Salina), mofette gas.

Therapeutic indications: diseases of the digestive system (hypoacid, chronic and hyperacid gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, chronic colitis), disease of the respiratory ways, biliary disease (biliary dyskinesia, cholecystitis), nutrition and metabolic diseases, neurological peripherals dideases, post - trauma affections, damage to kidneys and urinary tract, associated diseases (degenerative rheumatism or osteoarthritis, heart disease, endocrinology, gynecology, occupational diseases, asthenic neurosis).

Types of procedures: Internal cure made with mineral water, Aerosols and Inhalations with mineral water and medicinal substances; external treatment with mineral waters from Slanic Moldova help treat rheumatic diseases and abarticular ones, of the cardiovascular and respiratory (allergic asthma, chronic tracheo, chronic sinusitis, pulmonary emphysema), treatment of endocrine diseases (prepubertal states of hyperactive children), the gynecological diseases (menopausal ovarian syndrome) and other diseases. The treatment consist of heated mineral water Baths, physical therapy, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, medical physics culture; treatment in the microclimate of salina; psychotherapy, melotherapy, geriatrics.

Slănic Moldova is a permanent-season resort with a temperate and with a pure air, free of dust and particles that can cause allergies, and rich in resinous aerosols and negative ions. The average annual temperature is 7.4 ° C and the average annual precipitation is 700 mm.
As station balneo- bioclimatic features a unique tourism potential, largely due to the hot springs and environmental natural resources that have transformed the city into one of the major holiday destinations, both for those in need of treatment of various diseases and to those seeking relaxation in a picturesque region of Moldavia.
