LAKE HÉVÍZ

We arrive at the Lake Hévíz. When entering a great scale model hallows to know previously the location of the different buildings that compose the group of the thermal complex.

It come to my memory when, for the first time, together with colleagues of several countries of the EU, we visit the Lake Hévíz, on November 2002. It was something magic to swim among clouds of healthy vapours, while the hot waters (29ş) sulphurous and mineralized were giving me an incredible sensation of well-being.

The group become as well impressed by this Lake with a funnel shape of about 47.000 square meters of surface. Much more when they learn that its water is thermal water and due to the abundance of local springs, the water is replaced within a few days. There is a depth 38 meters in the centre, where the hot water arise and when arriving to the surface, they stay at 35ş in summer. That it is the biggest volcanic lake of thermal water in Europe. That the water has several thousands years and come from kársticas sources whose content in sulphur make possible the treatment of the rheumatic illnesses.

The thermal experience includes a bath in the mythical Lake Hévíz. But this time we will be surrounded by nenuphars that cover the lake in this summery time. The warm waters penetrate in the skin renovating energy and vitality.

The group dispersed itself among the swimmers, people of all ages spending the day in the thermal lake. It is the culture of the water for the citizens' benefit and to improve their quality of life.

The mud of the Lake Heviz is used by the hotels to carry out the medical treatments. Due to its high concentration of sulphur and radio possesses an extraordinary therapeutic value. The thermal, sulphurous water and mineromedicinal are suitable for muscular problems and artrosis besides treatments of the nervous system.

The thermal complex of the Lake Héviz has other therapeutic services such as Balneotherapy and treatments of acne and Hydropic cures, that is to say, treatments by drinking water.
