The Hungarian Baths Association promotes its
study in collaboration with the Szechenyi Library.
The
Hungarian Baths Association is at the present working in the preparation of a
"Vademécum" of Hungary Thermal Baths in cooperation with the Szechenyi
National Library, of Budapest. Professional experts are collaborating in the
investigation of this work that seeks to become a reference book for the bath
companies.
The Hungarian Baths Association with an extensive trajectory in publishing
works regarding thermal establishments, is studying to publish this year a new
Guidebook of Spas including the managing and planning of the baths companies.
In 1995, using its own promotional resources, the Hungarian Baths Association
published the first guidebook "Spas of Hungary ",in English, German and
Hungarian languajes. The book turned out to be a manual of indispensable
consultation, for this reason a second hungarian version was made in 1997, and
second two versions, in English and German, in 1999.
The possibility of classifying the Spas of Hungary counting on the support of
an institution of renowned prestige like the National Library Szechenyi of
Budapest, is a guarantee of biggest national and international projection of the
Baths and Thermal waters of a country with more than 2000 years of thermal
culture.
THERMAL BATHS COMPANIES
In
1992, at the Hotel Gellért SPA of Budapest, five companies operating hungarian
thermal baths decided to stablish the Hungarian Baths Association. According to
the will of founders: the Hungarian Baths Association is an association of
economic organizations and of managers operating baths and of the ones that
participate in planning, developing and building spas and taking the
responsibility of the maintenance."

- Committee of Directors of Spas of Budapest: Dr. Gábor Horvarth, Director,
Secretary: Dr.Gyorgy Akhoseyi, National Committee of Directors of Supply of
Water.
The recently created Hungarian Bath Association, integrated by 15 members
celebrated its first General Assembly in Budapest, in the spring of 1993 a
proposal was born concerning the foundation of professional committees (medical,
educational, technical and economic). At the next Assembly Meeting, the Economic,
Educational and Medical Committees or were created.
Later becausse the expansion of the issues the Economic Committee took on the
handling legal affairs, as well, and the Committee of Qualification was founded
for the handling of quality and qualification problems. In the spring of 2002,
the Assembly founded the Marketing Committee.
The Hungarian Baths Association foments a more intensive international
relationships with other similar Associations from adjacent countries like
Austria, Slovakia, Transilvana and Germany. The leaders of foreign bath
associations are habitually invited to the Hungarian Asambly meeetings where
they made presentations concerning the baths conditions of their countries,
about development and the way to solve common problems.
EUROPEAN INSTITUTIONS
In
1996, the chairman of the European Associations of Spas (ESPA) made a
presentation in the Assembly because of the entrance of Hungary in the ENRA as
the first non EU country.
That same year, the Hungarian Bath Association joined the ESPA and in 1998
became regular member of the European organization. In the 2001, the ESPA
celebrated its annual Meeting Assembly for the first time in Budapest.
In 1997 the hungarian were invited to participate in the OMTH Assembly whose
chairman is at the present is Mr. Tamás Bender .
At
the present the Hungarian Bath Association is presided by Dr. Gábor Horváth
being honorary member Dr. Károly Kun from Debrecen. The Association counts on
164 members of which 105 are spas operated by regular members and 59 are
supported by individual members and honorarium. The Association celebrates their
Meetings of mosaico bańo termal Assembly in different Spa cities. The first
Meeting of the 2004, took place last month of April, in Kecskemét.
Among its main achievements, the creation of a Forum for the Hungarian
professionals of spa activity. The objective was to share ideas and experiences,
besides the organization of updating programs of thermal administration. The
final result was a bigger optimization in knowledge at technical and economic
level.
The Hungarian Bath Association is an institution of prestige that
participates in the negotiations with different executive organizations and
authorities. The Ministry of Justice ask for our opinion when making new laws
and the Hungarian Committee for Standardization ask for our input when defining
new stándars of quality.
